Two Paths to Participate
Candidates may be considered through two distinct paths depending on their experience, availability, expected contribution, working relationship, and long-term interest in helping build a portfolio company.
Founding Member
Founding Members generally begin with a flexible, limited contribution while both sides evaluate working fit and identify the portfolio company most closely aligned with the candidate’s experience.
Contributions may include:
- Strategy and company direction.
- Product and market input.
- Customer introductions.
- Partner introductions.
- Commercialization support.
- Selected company-building initiatives.
This initial involvement allows both sides to evaluate the working relationship and determine whether there is appropriate alignment for continued participation.
Potential Co-Founder
Potential Co-Founders are considered after mutual evaluation and must be prepared to assume substantial, continuing operating responsibility within the applicable portfolio company.
The nature of the role may depend on the company’s development stage, operating requirements, the candidate’s experience, and mutual agreement.
Authority, time commitment, vesting, equity, responsibilities, and other applicable terms are negotiated separately and documented through definitive written agreements.
